赤坂サカス広場での「防災フェス」に出展、ワークショップなどを開催

December.03.2025

event

On November 22 (Sat.) and 23 (Sun.), 2025, CACL exhibited at the “Disaster Preparedness Festival” held at Akasaka Sacas Square in front of TBS, offering sales of chopstick rests and hair ties, as well as hosting various workshops.

A large number of families with children visited the venue over the two days, many of whom participated in our workshops. We were also pleased to welcome participants who had attended our workshops in the past, and we received positive feedback from many visitors.

CACL will continue to actively organize workshops at various events in the future.

About CACL Inc.

CACL Inc. is based in Nomi City, Ishikawa Prefecture, an area known for its Kutani ware. The company addresses two intersecting social challenges: the shortage of successors in traditional crafts, and the limited employment options and low wages for people with disabilities. To tackle these issues, CACL develops projects that connect craftsmanship with inclusive employment, producing art pieces and products made by reassembling ceramic fragments.

Following the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake, CACL Inc. launched the “Stand with NOTO” project as part of its recovery support efforts. The initiative included establishing temporary workshops for Wajima lacquerware artisans and creating job opportunities. The company also initiated the “Rediscover project,” an expanded art initiative that combines fragments of Kutani ware with elements such as Suzu ware and Wajima lacquer techniques. Artworks created from fragments damaged in the earthquake were exhibited at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, in the exhibition “Dancing with Every Thing — Ecologies of Empathy.”

In July of this year, CACL Inc. launched “KAKERA,” an experimental brand dedicated to redefining the value of discarded or non-standard traditional crafts by exploring and creating new materials and products using ceramic fragments. KAKERA has collaborated with Parfums Givenchy, and also launched a joint project with LIXIL and Yuko Nagayama & Associates to carry the traditional landscapes of Noto into the future.
